Baseball sees league championship as a possibility

Recap and future plans for baseball team. 

Coach: Adam Varteressian

Last year record (results in league/CCS): The team ended in the top 10 in Open Division and top 25 in CCS, with a record of 17-13.

2015 season recap: The team finished second in the De Anza League and battled Palo Alto in the league championship series; however, it lost two out of the three games to the Vikings. In CCS, the team lost against Branham High School in the first round 2-0.

Key returners: senior Ryan Casini, junior Kainoa Giomi, senior Michael Schillage, senior Cole Petters

Key additions: sophomore Quinn Dozier, sophomore Nathan Peng, sophomore Robert Scott 

Star athletes: senior Tyler Yoshihara

Key losses to graduation: Evan Lindeman, Joey Medeiros

League: De Anza League

Quote from coach: “We've been competitive [as a team] the last few years and definitely finishing first in League and being top 10 in CCS is an expectation.”

Prognosis: Even though there’s tough competition within the league, the team hopes to go far in CCS and win League Championships, adding to its championship title from two years ago.
