Girls’ track: Falcons progress to meet individual goals

The girls' track team prepares for the upcoming season.

Head coach: Archie Ljepava

2013-2014 season record: 2-4

2013-2014 season recap: The team placed fourth at the league meet. 2014 alumni Mady Fagan and senior Puck de Roos broke the school records in high jump and heptathlon respectively.

Star Athletes: senior sprinter Laura Cummins and heptathlete Puck de Roos.

Key Additions: Freshman thrower Paige Hansen and distance runner Allison Borch

Key Matchups: Wilcox

Key Losses to graduation: Mady Fagan, Lauren Casey-Clyde and Julia Sakamoto

League: SCVAL League El Camino Division

Prognosis: The team would like to move up to the De Anza division next year by scoring more points and have more athletes make it to CCS. During the season, the team hopes that athletes demonstrate consistent progress toward their individual goals. “I'm looking forward to getting faster times and having a great last year with my friends and coaches,” said Cummins.
