Physics C AP class considered for 2015-2016 April 14, 2014 — by Deepthi Sampathkumar Over the next few years, students will see many changes in the format of the physics curriculum on campus. Not only will the AP Physics B class be replaced with a rigorous Physics Honors course for the 2014-2015 year, but there is also a potential plan for the addition of an AP Physics C class for the 2015-2016 year. Over the next few years, students will see many changes in the format of the physics curriculum on campus. Not only will the AP Physics B class be replaced with a rigorous Physics Honors course for the 2014-2015 year, but there is also a potential plan for the addition of an AP Physics C class for the 2015-2016 year. AP Physics teacher Kirk Davis said that whether the Physics C class will be added depends on how well Physics Honors does next year. One major concern with adding the Physics AP C class would be that because it is a second-year class, students would need to take a year of physics before the AP Physics C class. “We don’t know how many students will take Physics a second year,” said Davis. Assistant principal Brian Safine said the course could be a beneficial addition for those interested in physics. “The Physics C would be teaching different topics so that would be of appeal to some people,” said Safine. 4 views this week
