My idea of a perfect day

Reporter shares her "perfect day"

It’s my perfect day. I start it by sleeping in to 11 a.m., because I can’t function in the mornings. Whenever I get the chance, I sleep in for as long as I can to make up for the lack of sleep I get on weekdays.

After I finally get up and walk down the stairs, my favorite breakfast in the world, a plate of waffles drizzled with maple syrup and topped with a pump of whip cream and a strawberry, is waiting for me.

After eating breakfast, I head to Capitola with my friends and spend the afternoon there. Our first priority is to wade into the ocean and collect various types of shells.

Then I head to the city’s colorful, aesthetic walls. There are so many walls to choose from, some with cool designs and patterns printed on them. Even though it’s considered “basic” to take pictures at the Capitola walls, it doesn’t make it any less fun.

Feeling hungry for a late lunch, my friends and I get pizza from Pizza My Heart because they have a plethora of choices and many great deals — it my go-to pizza place. The Capitola location also offers a deal of a Pizza My Heart shirt and a slice of pizza for only $7, which makes the purchase even more worth it.

After a long day at the beach, we head home and arrive late — but not too late for “Dynasty,” my favorite Netflix show. After I’m finished watching “Dynasty,” I make penne pasta with marinara sauce and drizzled with lots of mozzarella cheese, one of my favorite easy dinners to make.

To end my perfect day, I listen to Ariana Grande’s new album “Sweetener” on Spotify. Finally, I go to bed and know I don’t have to wake up for at least 10 hours — there is no school the next day.
