Ranking Lil Uzi’s Eternal Atake

Two news bois rank the song in the Philly rapper’s new album.

On March 3, after more than  a year of song teases and leaks, rapper Lil Uzi Vert dropped a trailer for his highly anticipated album “Eternal Atake.”

After Uzi dropped the “Luv Is Rage 2” album in 2017, all we have gotten are some singles like “Sanguine Paradise” and “That’s a Rack.” How long has it been since an actual Uzi album? We’d been waiting so long that we almost forgot, but on March 7, Lil Uzi Vert finally dropped his latest work.

This album was straight gas, so ranking all of the songs was a challenge. Just because a song is lower on the list doesn’t mean it’s bad. It just means that other songs were even better.

We also chose not to rank “Futsal Shuffle 2020” because it was a single that was released months before the real album came out.

5. “P2” aka “XO Part 2” feels like an alternative version of the hit “XO Tour Llif3” with new verses but a similar flow. Though the original is better, this song still slaps. It also brings back feelings of nostalgia from our middle school days. We appreciate Uzi for dropping a part two.

4. “I’m Sorry” was written for Uzi’s ex-girlfriend. With its genuine tone, it is one of the most emotional songs that we have heard from Uzi. When you listen to it at night, it will get you in the feels.

3. “Silly Watch” isn’t hard to justify. It is one of Uzi’s higher energy songs, and we always feel happier after listening to it. The vibe that this song gives us just makes us want to rage in the streets.

2. “Baby Pluto” is the very first song on the album that adds the album tagline (just like producer taglines as an intro) of “Welcome to Eternal Atake.” This song is just straight heat. The approximately one minute buildup on this song gives you a burst of energy, leading to the climax where the beat drops and Uzi goes off.

1. “XO Part 1 and 2” sike the best song isn’t even on the album — no explanation needed. This is godly content. This remix puts the two songs of “XO Tour Llif3” and “P2” — one on the right ear and one on the left ear — together and is only on YouTube, and we believe everyone needs to check it out with earbuds.

Listening to both at the same time helps us understand the way Uzi has changed since “XO Tour Llif3.” When you finish listening to both at the same time, you will realize that P2 was never meant to outdo P1 but to give all the listeners a feeling of nostalgia. Use good headphones for this remix or you will not have the full immersive experience.
