Coach: Archie Ljepava League: Santa Clara Valley Athletic League, El Camino Division Key Athletes: Junior sprinters Jaijit Singh and Clifford Yin, junior distance runner Amit Nag Key Additions: freshmen distance runners Kole Tippets and Sean Chen Key Losses: Alumni Vincent Faylor, Stephen Law, Matthew Peterson and Tanner Zuleeg Key Matchups: Wilcox, Monta Vista Prognosis: For the distance team, many key cross country runners such as seniors Austin Cai and Nicholas Sum decided not to run track this year. As a result, the pressure of leading the team falls to juniors, such as distance runner Amit Nag, who was also co-captain in cross country. “I want to use my experience from cross country to help guide the underclassmen,” Nag said. “With the loss of a lot of great athletes, we hope to build a strong team of new runners, especially because of the incoming freshmen.” 4 views this week
