Boys’ tennis prepares for CCS with new team February 14, 2017 — by Ryan Kim and Ethan Ko Athough the boys tennis team has lost players to graduation, the team remains confident, even qualifying for CCS. Coach: Florin Marica 2015-2016 season record: 10-3 2015-2016 season recap: The team won SCVAL and placed third in CCS and at the California Tennis Classic tournament. Key athletes: Seniors Matthew Kermin, Kailas Shekar and Andre Xiao and junior Dean Stratakos Key additions: Freshman Andrew Lee Key losses: Alumni Karthik Padmanabhan, Jihau Yu and Naved Krishnamurthy Key matchup: Monta Vista Prognosis: Although the team has lost key players to graduation, the Falcons are optimistic about winning CCS for the first time since 2014 and hope to play in NorCals.
